How to Spot Fad Diets

1. You would be limited to choices which would be very narrow choices, examples being say one fruit, or one particular type of carbohydrate example being brown rice and no other carbohydrates.

2. Total elimination of one particular food group say protein for instance.

3. Your meals are based around one particular food group in question, say for instance protein and/or carbohydrates,

4. You have no fat at all in your diet

5. You are led to believe that you will lose large quantities of weight in a small space of time, say one or two pounds per day which is very unrealistic

6. The diet in question may be promoted around a pill or some other unrealistic method of losing weight, say some kind of special food or drink

7. The methods of weight loss, have no proven scientific grounding whatsoever, and sales pitch built around glossy pictures plus testimonials, and claim that certain foods will either make you gain or lose weight

8. The people behind the diet, the one's supporting it may and try to manipulate you into thinking that doctors won't know how it works.

9. The promotion also might say things like "lose weight while you sleep"or you can eat lots of fatty food and still manage to lose weight which is totally unrealistic of course.

10. The concept behind how the diet works, is very simple but the promoters fool you into thinking that there is some secret behind it, and only they know what it is.
